Microsoft listened to sounded like they were very successful with Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system. However, I have tried several versions of the OS, and although it seems like and try to act like Windows, likufanya not cut it. This is too confusing for wireless phones. Even smart phones.
It's an inverse relationship. More power is a smart phone, operating system simple needs. If the operating system is difficult or has too many steps, not popular, period. Phone operating system must be easy for a few click.
Microsoft's OS is between 10% of the music sent last year in 2009. It's only about 1% better than their market share in 2006. That means Microsoft has stopped.
Apples begin without market share in 2006. They launched the iPhone in market share in 2007 and already up to almost 13%. Apple and struck gold and growing rapidly. How long will it continue?
Google's next. We do not know the number, but I hope to grow market share as fast as Apple.
When we watch Google must also ask who will be next?
Several years ago Microsoft is a great opportunity to enter the wireless media, but in a few yeas now since Apple and Google have changed the language and there is even talk about Microsoft again.
So what did Microsoft do to reverse their fate?
There are a lot of competition in recent years. Since Apple jumped into the smart phone space the last few years raised the bar even higher. Generosity and beauty of Apple's design is awesome. Although not do some simple basics that are important to most users are still popular. When they fix this problem would be more popular.
Google Android has increased in their system and even more media attention from Apple this year. Google introduces new tool and even their own. This is the next great adventure to follow.
Both companies have changed the position signal when the last few years. Look what happened to Palm. They started a revolution in smart phones and they had a decade ago. Now they are small players.
What will be the next big revolution in the wireless operating system wars? Be from Apple or Google or someone else?
These companies change the language. Speaking the language that only Microsoft doesn t. Who would have thought possible, but suddenly Microsoft looks like a giant old sector. Just like AT & T had done in 1990 s. Still commands a large market share, but strive for the creative side.
AT & T reinventing itself in the last 6 years and running well again. Your Microsoft?
Many phone makers have found a variety of options. Palm, for example, began with the Palm OS they are famous. Then begin using the Microsoft Windows Mobile OS. Then he rolled over their Palm WebOS. Today the three children to the market as their customers continue to listen and compare.
RIM Blackberry have their own operating system. Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, LG, HTC and others are all dealing with similar questions. Operating systems that use their equipment? Clients really love?
Wireless subscribers have hundreds of millions of different users in the U.S. alone. Is great. Expect the group to win a single OS for all people. But as people of different operating systems for various reasons.
The aim is to see the current market to see winners and losers. Microsoft seen as winner a few years ago. However, today two of Apple and Google have taken away from Microsoft just blowing wind.
The first thing they did to rethink everything. They still have power, but tired brand. They first thing to do is update the brand.
They recently released a new Windows 7, and this has been successful so far. That's good. The problem is they released under their brand fatigue. So the way I think, is that they can be more successful.
Microsoft need to reinvent the brand. Give it a young, new, aggressive, hard felt. That's who they are competing. Microsoft needs to break the law. They can make the old law, but that was yesterday.
Look success of Google. Is breaking the law. Now move to the business after the business and change the laws of each. Google does not so try to enter and compete. Google changed the rules of the game and can win straight from the box. This is not magic. It's just that, they put the new law of the game. Smart thinking.
This is similar to what Apple did. Apples have a unique relationship with their clients who stand outside stores all night to be the first to buy the new iPhone version. It's also magic. A special relationship with the client.
Now think of Microsoft. A very successful, but great, and now very old company, compared with strangers.
If you want to be number one in the market, you have to find your return including the above.
Realizing that Google and Apple is very successful today. Do they have 10 years from now or we will stand to change others?
Microsoft can reinvent themselves and prosper again? Yes, indeed they can. Theya still large and powerful companies. Are their questions. Do they have the right to think? Do they need to do? Did they find the company again, or only one new product?
They want to be young and vital and important again. They want a leader once again. They tried, but only use one hand to raise the weight. Are they rediscover their brand and their image in the marketplace? That is a big question.
