When Türk Telecom Broadband ADSL finally under our capacity on the Aegean coast in 2005, not too early to time - to stop the bleeding of our internet phone bill suddenly and jump in the middle of the season worrying about $150 per month for simple 56Kbps dial up.

ADSL service came late to the west coast of our city, even then, we citizens of the beach side. When he arrived in Turkey in the new millennium and has become fully operational in major cities (starting with Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir) since 2002 - and many Western countries the small municipalities since 2004. But we did not reach the small Izmir province to municipalities in August 2005.

In fact, We have installed the first Internet phone lines in the year 1994 we (one year after the Internet became commercially operational in Turkey) as different
analog
line - so Pixie can use our first line of the sound ... And, then again, we dial-up usage fees have been around $20 per month with a small amount of KDV (Katma Değer Vergisi - Value Added Tax) - in the neighborhood of 5%, if I remember correctly.

In 1996, when we upgrade to digital 56kps dial-up service , our Internet phone bills rise by about $25 . And they lived close to the lower level - for KDV encouraged to telephone services in 2003 (accident and strength came Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan AKP's religious right political party) KDV maximum tax rate of 18%.

But, while 18% wasn t enough to meet the new government taxes, he found one additional called the International vinorganisationens (Özel İletişim Vergisi - Special Communication Tax) is punched in the 15% directly from the bat - Without much warning in 2004 .

So, our very reasonable monthly phone bill Internet during 1994-2002 got bumped by 33% in 2,003-4 - not because of increased usage on our side, but tax bill from the phone .

And there was sitting around $35 a month, until the year 2005 - when something strange began to happen Türk Telecom to report our use of the Internet. And, Our internet bill began to increase sharply -- clear disagreement with their own cost accounting (based on my date impeccable service reliable dial-up computer memory).

Twice we can contact Türk Telecom Internet to check our ranks
deliberately exaggerated . They were checked twice and found nothing.

And then July 2005 blew the lid ... We received dial-up telephone service charges for whopping $150 +.

Totally impossible ...

So, after we (reluctantly) paid $150 bills, we live complaints, and asked for an investigation ...

Refused to pay the disputed phone [or electricity] bill is not a choice in Turkey. If you don t pay your bills on time, they only care Disconnect - just like that, and without warning. They also pay interest on the unpaid balance until you pay for - and, of course, you have to pay extra service reconnected.

And we waited to hear the results of their investigation.

It never came. The next month, as mentioned, Türk Telecom ADSL service we deliver - and our complaints (and the details of their investigation) lost in the Shuffle.

But that's not entirely the end of the story ...
